1. Pride is not arrogance, it is self appraisal.
2. Appraisal from others gives one more pride, but too much pride just takes away all appraisal. 
3. Pride doesn't equal perfection, it equals satisfaction. 
4. People can't be proud of you until you are proud of yourself.
5. People will be proud of you until the time when pride takes the form of arrogance.
